  • Responsibilities

     

    Acts as second level technical support, ensuring uninterrupted workflow to critical production systems. Troubleshoots hardware and software problems reported by users of PC and Mac systems, including any mobile and peripheral devices, determines appropriate solution and takes necessary action.

     

    1. Responds to Support Center or other requests for technical support, prioritizes work load, and  provides feedback of action taken when calls are closed.
    2. Performs analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing computer systems.
    3. Develops and provides PC resource requirements including personnel, software, hardware and makes recommendations to management.
    4. Ensures technology is up to date with latest security updates and patches.
    5. Reconfigures workstations as necessary, reporting unauthorized operator changes or unapproved/unlicensed software versions to management.
    6. May train users in proper operation of computer systems and new software applications.
    7. Acts as liaison for platform specific vendors, outside service technicians, and communicates with technical support hot lines.
    8. Works with outside vendors on equipment repairs and service contracts.
    9. Plans and implements network-wide upgrade and rollout projects.
    10. Installs Data Center equipment including server and network hardware.
    11. Assists with the maintenance of Data Center facility equipment including HVAC and power distribution units ensuring full understanding of facility environment and equipment.  
    12. Communicates with the Support Center staff to provide technical support for Franchise and O&O computer equipment.
    13. Required to carry a cell phone at all times; on call weekends and after hours
    14. Performs related work and additional duties as needed or required.

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum 5 years’ experience in a PC support. Mac desktop and server support experience a plus. Required: A+, MCDST. Preferred: Associate degree, Network +, Dell Tech, Apple Certified Technician.

     

    • Proficient in Windows 7/10 support and administration
    • Working knowledge of MacOS 10.12 and newer platform preferred
    • Experience in software installation and support, including MS Office (O365), Acrobat, and Java
    • Imaging computers and updating BIOS/UEFI settings
    • Experience supporting network security
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make independent judgement.
    • Excellent interpersonal / customer service skills        
    • Displays initiative and ability to work independently
    • Ability to create, update, and follow work instructions
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and multitasking abilities  
    • May be required to lift 65 pounds
