    What does the role look like today?

    The HR Generalist’s primary focus will be to provide full-service HR to our Valpak corporate office. This will include getting involved with recruitment, on-boarding support, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, special projects, and company-wide initiatives

     

     The HR Generalist will:

    • Works closely with VP of HR and HR team partnering with the business to help develop an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performing teams
    • Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
    • Assist employees with questions pertaining to pay, benefits, handbook, policies and procedures, and other HR related matters.
    • Actively involved with recommending and/or delivering on various projects which could include employee engagement, recruiting, organization development, compensation, and training and development.
    • Collaborate with other experts on the HR team as needed to appropriately handle various escalated issue which could include but not limited to workers compensation, benefits, safety, leave management, and talent development.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field preferred.  Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or equivalent capacity.  Professional in Human Resources (PHR) (SPHR) certification preferred.

     

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated employee relations problem solving skills.
    • Knowledge and understanding of recruitment processes and tools, including social media.
    • Familiarity with laws and regulations governing employment and compensation.
    • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
    • Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to make effective presentations and communicate in writing.
    • Detail oriented and highly organized work.
    • Staff consulting skills to work collaboratively with leaders in other departments.
    • Ability to work with computer applications, including Word, Excel, and HRIS systems.
    • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is helpful but not required
    • Ability to use descriptive statistics and understand HR data and reports.
    • Respect and compassion for employees at all levels.
