  • Responsibilities

    We’re looking for an intuitive and ambitious, razor-sharp individual who is passionate about accounting and would like to work on a collaborative team of talented professionals.  As a Senior Accountant you have complete oversight relating to the monthly general ledger close process, balance sheet and income statement analysis and presentation. You will review, analyze and verify the accuracy of all general ledger and subsidiary ledger information.  You’ll be integral in reporting quality information that will assist various levels of management in making key operational decisions for our franchise.

     

    You are:

     

    Analytical: you're able to expediently identify and analyze information using intuitive and logical methodology and communicate your findings

    Detail oriented: you are someone who has an eye for details and can make a conscious effort to understand causes instead of just the effects

    Technical: you are knowledgeable in US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting

    Mastering time management: you like to schedule specific times to complete tasks, avoid procrastinating, follow up on requests, and use downtime for planning and preparation

     

    You will:

    • Prepare and code General Ledger journal entries for month-end closing in accordance with GAAP ensuring accurate and timely results. This includes analyzing data and making assumptions to calculate amounts for journal entries.
    • Analyze financial statements monthly and reports to Assistant Controller explanations on variances
    • Prepare general ledger and bank account reconciliations monthly
    • Monitor receivables and working with internal or franchise office staff to effectively communicate on past due accounts
    • Prepare and gather required schedules and requests from outside tax and audit firms
    • Assist the Financial Planning & Analysis department with budgeting and forecasting as needed
    • Research accounting treatment related to complex accounting transactions in accordance with US GAAP and documenting as needed

    Qualifications

    You have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with Major in Accounting
    • Four years of experience in either public accounting (in the area of Audit) or private industry accounting experience
    • CPA exam candidate (CPA preferred but not required)
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Knowledge of SAP a plus
