What does the role look like today:

The HR Generalist’s primary focus will be to provide remote full-service HR to our owned and operated Valpak markets located throughout the United States. The market teams are on the front line selling and servicing local Valpak customers utilizing various products to connect and persuade local consumers to patronage their businesses. The HR Generalist will:

  • work closely with market leaders and duties may include; recruitment coordination; new hire on-boarding; coordinating new market setup and transition of employees; new hire and benefits processing; employee relations issues, separations, employee engagement, compensation, etc…
  • work closely with our external PEO provider and duties may include; ensuring appropriate service levels are being received; coordinating and sharing information; auditing and submitting benefits invoices for payment; trouble shooting issues that may arise, etc...
  • assist employees in the market with questions pertaining to pay, benefits, handbook, policies and procedures, etc…
  • be involved with recommending and/or delivering on various projects which could include employee engagement, recruiting, compensation and training and development, etc…

The HR Generalist will also assist with servicing the corporate headquarters staff and will get involved with recruitment and on-boarding support, employee engagement, employee relations, projects, company-wide initiatives, etc…

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field preferred.  Minimum 3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or equivalent capacity.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated employee relations problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of recruitment processes and tools, including social media.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations governing employment and compensation.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective presentations and communicate in writing.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized work.
  • Staff consulting skills to work collaboratively with leaders in other departments.
  • Ability to work with computer applications, including Word, Excel, and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to use descriptive statistics and understand HR data and reports.
  • Respect and compassion for employees at all levels.
