Valpak has the opportunity to fill a human resources position in a unique, fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate will manage our recruiting, employee relations and HR vendor partnerships. Job seekers with eight or more years experience supporting field sales and manufacturing employees would be an excellent fit for this role. 

 

GREAT, SO WHAT’S THE JOB?

 

Valpak has a small, talented HR team consisting of a generalist, a recruitment professional, an occupational health nurse, and benefits professional providing our employees with top-notch customer service.  You will be working with the team while acting as a strategic partner with leaders across the business units. The successful candidate will:    

  • Work with the VP of HR to assess employee culture recommending proactive employee engagement initiatives and practices.
  • Act as the primary HR leader for our company owned sales leadership and teams.
  • Develop staffing strategies to meet organizational talent needs while overseeing the recruiting function and acting as back-up recruiter when needed.
  • Work with the HR team to develop goals that align with key company strategies.  

The role involves a high degree of interaction with executives, our employees, and the ability to develop collaborative working relationships with the various teams we support.  We’re a diverse, supportive, hard-working team.  Even though we have some recurring work, every day is different due to the variety of customers we serve.

 

NO REALLY, WHAT WOULD I DO?

A successful human resources manager will:

  • Consult with a variety of employees from manufacturing to outside sales to executives on employee relations issues and organizational changes
  • Share ideas and insights with our HR VP on culture and employee engagement initiatives 
  • Implement new HR platforms and help employees adapt to changing systems
  • Keep our vendor partners on their toes meeting service level expectations
  • Make time to have some spontaneous fun during the day!

Qualifications

SO WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for an upbeat, experienced human resources manager. Bonus points if you have a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.  We are looking for HR professionals with eight years or more of progressive people leadership experience in all HR functions within both a sales and manufacturing environment.  

 

In a nutshell, we’re looking for people who:

  • Have experience mentoring, coaching, and leading a HR team to success
  • Take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to make decisions in an environment with change and  ambiguity
  • Possess strong critical thinking skills  
  • Are analytically savvy

  • Have exemplary group presentation skills
