Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician performs responsibilities related to building utilities, building services, building installations, custodian services, facilities maintenance and office area tasks.


The Facilities Technician transfers knowledge to others as required in order to supporting Lean requirements to meet organizational objectives.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.


  1. Performs duties associated with the Valpak buildings including the coordination of service provider’s activities (i.e. landscaping, custodial, light construction, etc.) in order to maintain the building in optimum condition.
  2. Performs routine and non-routine activities in the office areas in coordination with administrative personnel (i.e. replenishment of consumables, inventorying supplies, office and conference room re-arrangements, delivery of copy paper to printer stations, delivery of packages to appropriate parties, etc.).
  3. Performs facilities related maintenance (i.e. cleaning of equipment and common areas, preventative maintenance services for equipment, monitoring of general building conditions, etc.). Reports all building and grounds related issues to the Facilities manager and/or the building owner as appropriate.
  4. Assist with maintaining building security (i.e. safety walkthroughs, coordination of drills, etc.).
  5. Performs general maintenance and repairs (i.e. cleaning of the break areas and conference rooms as required, including installation and repair of furniture and work stations/cubicles).
  6. Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts; comfortable working at heights of 30 feet.
  7. Maintains company vehicle and performs vehicle inspections as assigned.
  8. Performs company errands as needed and all other duties as directed
  9. Valid driver's license required



Vocational training, certification, and/or minimum zero to twelve (0-12) months related experience in building facilities, utilities, maintenance, plumbing or electrical skills areas (or any combination of the above). Valid driver’s license required.
